Earl grey tea bags are common in the super market but they can be dangerous. The quality can be dangerously low and masked with extremely strong bergamot. Have you ever drunk a cup of earl grey from a tea bag and found the bergamot so strong that it was hard to finish the cup? So this begs the question, how is one to find some quality earl grey tea bags?
The first way to find quality earl grey tea bags is to look at the production method being used. There are three main production methods; orthodox, CTC (crushing, tearing, and curling), and LTP (Lawier Tea Processor). CTC involves machines taking the tea leaves and crushing, tearing, and curling the leaves in a single operation with a set of metal rollers. The extracted cell sap is collected and added to the leaves again and then the leaves are oxidized, dried, and sorted. The LTP method has the withered leaves leveled and then processed by blades spinning at very high rpm. The orthodox method is more expensive, but it produces a better cup of tea. In the orthodox method the leaves are placed into a separate rolling machine which rotates on a horizontal table. After this the leaves are oxidized, dried, and sorted.
The orthodox production method produces the best tea because the leaves are kept in larger pieces. The larger the tea leaves the more flavors, oils, and nutrients are kept in the tea bag. This means that the cup of tea that you end up drinking has more flavors and has stronger health effects. A more relaxing drinking experience and stronger effects for your body is the result.
The second way to find quality earl grey tea bags is to get the highest grade tea leaves possible. Black teas are rated according to an orange pekoe scale. The scale, from lowest grade to highest grade is fannings/dust, broken orange pekoe ( BOP), orange pekoe (OP), flowery Orange Pekoe (FOP), golden flower orange pekoe (GFOP), and tippy golden flower orange pekoe (TGFOP). The higher the grade of tea the more flavors there will be in the leaves. The more flavor in the leaves the more vibrant your cup of tea will be. The more vibrant your cup of tea is the higher the probability that you will find a truly relaxing experience.
Finding great earl grey tea bags is a challenge for anyone but with the number of companies online you should be able to find a cup of tea that you will fully enjoy. When trying to find a good brand of tea check to ensure that they produce their teas with the orthodox production method. The orthodox tea production method is more expensive than the other two methods and so it is used to create higher quality blends. If it is possible, ensure that you are getting a high grade of leaves. If you use these two techniques that earl grey tea bag which gives a truly amazing experience is just a boiling pot water away.
